This site’ consists of two interlinked Sections;
featuring articles, essays, many Scroll down thumbnail Galleries (with up to 3
levels of enlargement), together with photosets documenting previous projects
and shows. DC.com features Works, from 1983 to the present. Everything is laid out in a clear and
logical fashion on a cascade of indices, all interlinked for ease of use. The
beauty of this ‘Sectional’ system is that you may see as much or as little as
you wish.
The first Section of the site is an Artists
presentation. This is a set of pages intended to be a Presentation
of my Work to those who view my Work for the First time, or who want quick
overall guides to it. If you would like to start here, at the top’ - as it
were, please Click - The Presentation - on the Opening Index. This
will take you to the ‘Presentation Index’ - [each section has it’s own
main index]. All the articles here are
fully cross-referenced.
If you choose to follow these articles in index order
‘as a presentation’, you would start with the brief introduction - In person - The Artists life and work, a short Biography, putting the Works
in a context.
The second Article is The Presentation Gallery a
‘stitch in time’ guide to the contents of the
Thematic Galleries [See also below] in Section 2.
The next presentation is a short
Critical CV giving
details of my major projects since 1999.
Following that ‘On Practice and presentation’
is an essay concerning aspects of my Working practice and the project of my
Works: ‘Elementalism’.
After which
comes the shorter essay ‘On Edition and Originality’ - my attitude as a
printmaker to the Art Object, as an idea and it’s material consequence. There
then follows the ICV, the Longer Illustrated CV giving
a more detailed picture of my Working life, fully linked across
the site month by month since 1999.
The last two items are the Artists Statement: ‘Elementalism is…’ and ‘New British OP’ respectively
a technical statement of Elementalism, the ‘project’ and a list of those Artist
who are my inspiration, my ‘Homage to influence’.
Section 2 of the site are The
Thematic Galleries, offering a range of Scroll down thumbnail
Galleries, presenting ordered sets of Works, projects and recreated
exhibitions. The Galleries are numbered chronologically upwards, ie the
most recent Gallery having the highest number.
Between the Galleries, Sub indices link Exhibition
rooms, showing photosets of the Pictures and events of that
gallery, together with other related documents. Room 32a for example is
a Location photo set of the CRL building in Oxford relating to Gallery 32 - the
Oxford IN ATRIA Pictures.
In the Galleries click on any picture to see its
enlargement, click again to enlarge further to A4, the size of a good
coffee table book.
To
view the contents of all the galleries at once you can Click on the ‘Thematic
Galleries Visual index’ links for the Scroll down Slide index of
thumbnails, each of which is linked to its respective enlargement pages. Click
Picture to enlarge. For convenience the index is separated is in 5 parts, in chronological Gallery order.
